From Student in Aachen
to Founder in Friedrichshafen.
In December 2020, Amitkumar Jain landed in Germany to begin his Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH Aachen โ one of Europe's most prestigious technical universities. Like thousands of international students before him, he navigated the process largely on his own: visa applications, city registration, university admissions, bank accounts, health insurance, and the quiet challenge of building a life in a new country.
What started as helping a few friends and fellow students navigate the same process quickly grew into something bigger. Over the following years, Amitkumar guided more than 500 students through the entire journey โ from choosing the right German public university and preparing applications, to landing in Germany and completing their Anmeldung on day one.
But he saw a gap beyond students. Germany's economy was facing a critical skilled-worker shortage, and India โ a country with one of the world's largest and most qualified workforces โ was a natural answer. At the same time, German employers had no simple way to find, hire, and onboard international talent. The process was complex, fragmented, and full of pitfalls on both sides.
Skillbrรผcke was founded to close that gap โ to be the bridge between talented professionals from India and beyond, and the German employers who need them. The name says it all: Brรผcke means bridge in German.
